Minimalism is getting more and more populair. Pinterest is full of minimalistic pins. It makes you think you need to get rid of your possessions. But is that what really actually means? These three questions show what minimalism means to me:
What makes me happy in life?
To me this is the most important question in minimalism. Think for yourself what makes you happy. What I am going to say is going to sound really cheesy… Do what makes you happy! Make time for it. Get rid of the things that don’t make you happy. It sounds so simple. And it actually is.
The point is that minimalism is a tool to help you achieve freedom. Freedom from fear, freedom from worry, freedom from overwhelm, freedom from guilt, freedom from depression, freedom from enslavement.

Who is important to me?
Another question you need to ask yourself is which people are important to you. Make time for the people you love and see them often. Are there people in your life, who give you negative energy? Who don’t make you happy? Make less contact with them.
What purpose do my possesions have?
I believe less is more. Having less stuff gives peace in your mind. It also means less cleaning! Less stress, less clutter, less distraction. But more space, more savings, more mindfullness, more time! And lots more benefits.
Don’t be shocked, it doesn’t mean throwing away all your stuff! If you love books for example, keep it. But be critical about what your stuff means to you.
